Bistro Charlemagne is Now Open at Ayala Malls Manila Bay — Second Branch in the SOUTH!
December 31, 2019
Cheers to Bistro Charlemagne’s newest branch in the South. Located in the third floor of Ayala Mall Manila Bay’s Cinema Building, this Asian Fusion Restaurant is now ready to serve!
It’s my first time trying out this restaurant but I have high expectations because of my other foodie friends who happened to try their other branches — Ayala Mall Feliz, Pasig and Solenad 3, Nuvali.
Bistro Charlemagne is highly-defined by its bright plush-velvet furnishings that contrasts the restaurants’ neutral-toned floors and navy blue wall panels, showcasing a rather elegant and posh post-colonial interiors. The mood of the restaurant is warm and chill thanks to the lighting, making the whole space inviting.
The best part of this restaurant is that its location fronts Ayala Mall Manila Bay’s main feature, the Central Garden. This contributes to the restaurant’s natural lighting at daytime, and also gives the diners a great view of the mall as well.
The highlight of my Bistro Charlemagne experience — the FOOD! This restaurant introduces our favorite classic PINOY cuisines with a western twist. Despite its classy facade, this restaurant actually caters affordable SET MEALS starting at P235 and PLATTER MEALS ranging from P1,400 to P2,800 good for up to 15 pax. Budget-friendly, right?
BEEF TENDERLOINROLLS . Tenderloin strips wrapped around cheese, sauteed in teriyaki sauce
CANTONESE PRAWNS. Sauteed Prawns in cream and melted cheese sauce. This dish stands out even with just the sauce.
OX SISIG. Tender Ox-tongue and ox-tripe mixed with liver-mansi, with chicharon bulaklak on top.
OCTOPUS ALA POBRE. Soft slow-braised octopus in a garlic butter sauce and garlic confit.
SHRIMP POPPERS. Deep-fried shrimps in a sweet chili mayo sauce and chili oil, served with side salad.
Drunken Lengua in Mushroom Brown Sauce (Php415). Pan-seared ox tongue (lengua) with mushrooms and asparagus in white wine
SKILLET S’MORES . Ghirardelli chocolate or reese ganache topped with a roasted marshmallows, served with graham crackers on the side.
DRINKS (from Left to Right) 1. Blueberry Banana Shake 2. Vietnamese Coconut Drink 3. Four Seasons Shake 4. Choco Peanut Banana Shake
My favorite was the Four Seasons Shake (Mango shake with grenadine). Want some? (oops. dibs)
To my surprise, Bistro Charlemagne did not disappoint— in fact they exceeded it! Interiors, food, staff accommodation — my overall dining experience was beyond expectation. I am one satisfied customer! I guess I found another restaurant I will be going back to from time to time. (And I guess Bistro Charlemagne has gained a new suki. hehe).
Looking forward to more branches for Bistro Charlemagne (hopefully in Evia, hehe).
Thank you so much Mr. Charlemagne, through Francis G, for the invite!
